My journey in clean care products started nearly four or five years ago. I’ve gradually made a switch from using regular soaps and shampoos to toxin-free self-care products. Trust me I use to spend a lot of time going through the labels trying to understand the ingredients and see what was perfect for my skin type from bath gels, handmade soaps to top of the line shampoos, as I have curly frizzy hair, all of them laden with sulphates, keratins, fragrances and other harsh chemicals. To counter the effect I would use another product. So it was one unending loop.
I finally got my hands on sulphate free shampoos and soaps that had no parabens. I went through a lot of hit and trial – till finally, I got what I was looking for. Now my hair feels naturally soft and my skin not so stretched and dry.
l also found face creams that were natural and deodorants that had no aluminum. I was not looking for an anti-per spirant but deodorants that kept body odor at bay. So now my skin has remarkably reduced its age spots and underarms that had darkened with deo sticks bought off the shelf from supermarkets are now clear and soft. As I shifted to clean products for my basic routine, over time my skin felt better and my curly mop of hair couldn’t have been healthier. I stopped using color as that too bothered me – but since I enjoy the browns I switched to Kama’s Indigo henna, which worked wonders for my hair.
Using products that are gentle on your skin with all natural ingredients help in the appropriate regeneration of the skin. This also helps in keeping our environment anti pollutant. Since no toxins are being washed down our drains.
And that’s how the idea germinated to curate the best in class toxin-free skin and beauty care. As we formed – Icawnic a brand, that curates clean beauty, we have been very particular about our standards of clean ingredients. After we have vetted them out we can ensure that no product has anything that is harmful for health.
